Dear Sir
On this remote California shore close to the Mexican line, so remote and isolated that perhaps the place has never been brought to your notice, we have a prosperous musical society, and are faithfully studying the works of Dr. Dvorak. We encounter almost insurmountable problems, since it is difficult to obtain even a catalogue of your music, but we have great enthusiasm and reverence for the Master who is doing so much for the development of music in America. Would it be too presumptuous to ask Dr Dvorak to send us a few words of encouragement or advice?
