My dear friend
I was a little surprised to heare[!]1 from you, you will have my new Oratorio expressly written for the Leeds Festival. I thought you know already by the newspapers that this new great work will be published at Novello Ewer in London.
The people from Birmingham and Leeds and many others when I was the first time in England asked me to write oratories for their Festivals, and accordingly[!]2 to this, it could only appear at an english music publisher as Novello is.
Of course Mr Littleton bought this new work from me, as hi[!]3 has done with my “Spectres Bride” performed at the last Birmingham Festival.
When I get this new work ready (I am now about this third part) I will begin the promised “Dances Slavonic”.
I hoppe[!]4 till to the beginning of July or end of July, I will abel[!]5 to send them.
Meanwhile I remain faithfully yours
Antonín Dvořák
You see I became quite a[n] Englishman
P.S.
I intent[!]6 to make a journey when I have finished the “Slav[onic] Dances” a[nd] perhaps on this occasion I will see you in Berlin. From May till October I am in Vysoká.
