My dear Friend
Many thanks for your kind letter just received. I am delighted to hear that you have decided to write a Requiem for Birmingham. I have written at once to the Committee and I know they will be very pleased to hear the good news.
As soon as you begin the composition of the great work I hope you will send me news occasionally what solo voices you are writing for etc., etc.
With kindest regards
Yours very sincerely
Alfred H Littleton
Of course we shall be delighted to see you at Sydenham in April: will Madame Dvořák come with you - I hope so.
