Description:
Photographic portrait, head and shoulders, vignette. Left half profile, full beard, dark patterned woven suit with waistcoat, white shirt, neckerchief with white dots. Gilt-edged cardboard. On the obverse, bottom left, a slip of paper glued on with the printed name Dvořák.
Handwritten annotations:
On the reverse, in pen, an inscription (in Czech) including the incipit of Ludmila’s part in the oratorio Svatá Ludmila: “‘O dovol o dovol abych zlíbat směla tvých nohou prach’...in Písek 7 June 1886 Antonín Dvořák”.
Note:
The mention of Písek as the location of the dedication may indicate a connection with the family of Antonín Rus.
