My dear Teacher,
When I left the class this morning I want directly to the Atelier of my friend Mr. Joseph - the violin maker - but he has not been there for two days, on account of the serious illness of his son - I do not know any one else to apply to - so can not do as I hoped - namely, supply a viola for the concert. I am very sorry, but hope that some one will be able to get one for you.
