My dear friend

I am[!]¹ arrived quite well at home.

The very merry days of Birmingham ar[e] over and now day[!]² I [am] quit[e] alone as before. Daily your walkings in the beautyful[!]³ forests and reflecting about Ludmila. Many thanks for the receiving coppys[!]⁴ of the oratorio and cantatas. The curator of the Graphic in London asked me for my portrait, but I am sorry, not to have one.

Please will you be so kind and send him an[!]⁵ photograph from Birmingham, [?] supposed, they are ready. [?] something more. My best compliments to your family.
