Saturday Dear Dr. Dvořák Excuse me if I trouble you. Just to please a friend at whose house in Washington the Kneisel concerts are held I have printed some of my remarks in pamphlet form and send you a specimen. Thank you for the corrections. I read your M[anu]S[cript] in such a hurry that I did not dare trust myself. But I was more than amused to find that one of the things which troubled me was the second voice of the 2nd melody subject of the 2nd movement which I had written down instead of the first. But I have a sort of apprehension that we haven’t got it straight yet. As you sent it to me your sustained the A-sharp [notová ukázka] It seems to me this is straight away D major. I copied it as you sent it, however, as if you meant A♮ musician will supply it. I hope I do not worry you with my persistence. I have been interested in folk-song for over 15 years and since years ago agitated the question in Cincinnati and gave a composer some melodies for a sute suite which was played at a reception given to me. Cincinnati I want to get our musicians aroused. Next Monday evening I shall lecture on the subject before Brown University in Providence. Very sincerely yours H.E.Krehbiel
