Many thanks for your letter of the 4.11  just received. I think the best plan would be for you (as you have always done before) to name a price for the “Requiem”: and the Symphony if you wish us to have this latter.

You must please remember that there is really no sale in England for symphonies: and also that we have invested already a great deal of money in your works and that it must be a long time before much of this comes back to us.

We should certainly like to have the works for all countries.

We shall be delighted to see the full score or vocal score of the Requiem if you will kindly send it to us as you propose.

Trusting that we shall be able to come to an arrangement satisfactory to both of us.
