I wrote to Mrs. Thurber on receipt of your letter and have now her reply.

1. She wishes me to have a contract prepared at once which you shall see directly.

2. They will deposit one month before you sail $7500 = £1500

3. They will not make the salary more than $15,000 (fifteen thousand dollars) per annum.

You must remember that you are dealing with people (not agents) who will hear you with every consideration and with whom it will be easy to make any arrangements or slight variations in the contract even after it is figured without any difficulty I shall put the contract in hand at once and shall be glad to know by return if you think it probable that you will be able to sign it.
