My dear Friend I was very pleased to receive your letter and to learn that you are all comfortable and happy in New York: I hope you will continue to be so and that your whole visit will be a great success. We should very much like to publish all your new works if we can arrange to do so. Please let me know what terms you propose and do not ask us too much especially as there may be some difficulty about the copyright of the Te Deum on account of the performance in America. I think the Festival people would prefer an oratorio but if you would write and tell me definitely that you would much rather do a cantata I daresay they will be satisfied.
